The hyde park art center at 5020 south cornell avenue, chicago

After negotiating a 35-year license with the property owner, University of Chicago, Metropolitan Properties spearheaded a pro-bono effort to convert what was originally an industrial building into a cutting-edge art center serving Hyde Park, the South Side and the Chicago metropolitan area. Mr. D’Angelo remains an active board member for the center. The project received the 2007 Chicago Neighborhood Development Awards/The Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Award for Architectural Excellence in Community Design Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC).
